What Is Our Purpose
At one point in time we all have wondered what our purpose on earth is. We have questioned as to whether life really does have meaning or not, and searched for answers that most often never come. Existential dread haunts us all at times, but is there an escape? Is there really a meaning to all of this living stuff, or are we just insignificant forms roaming a rock floating through all of space?
The meaning we perceive our life to have, whether we realize it or not, is informed by the mythological tradition we have been raised in.
“People say that what we’re seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experience on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”
Joseph Campbell
